Spot™ implements an open system architecture that enables integration of data of various types derived from different sources. A central Metering Data Management (MDM) system collects data, analyzes it and dynamically activates functions of the system.

Spot™ is a highly modular system that enables customers to make gradual use of its full functionality. Utilities can start with a relatively simple and limited AMR/AMI application and then expand functionality to multi-tariff metering, online control, online billing and other functions. The high modularity reduces the learning curve and facilitates a smooth transition to more complex functionality.

Utilities can implement the system in a different way for each group of customers, shortening the transition period.

The technology enables the integration of smart and non- smart meters in the same system, from the simplest meter that is modified on site using special sensors, to smart meters and power analyzers with multiple interfaces and protocols, such as DLMS, M-Bus, etc.
